My studio
I maintain a private studio from my home in Oak Park, Michigan. I also teach at Students' homes when that is preferred and convenient.
I also teach students through the Flint Institute of Music; students in the Flint area can get in touch with me through the FIM.
I am currently building a studio at the Rocester Conservatory for Music.
My Philosophy
I teach students of all ages and ability levels. As such I believe in meeting students where they are at in terms of technical ability.
I strongly believe that music should be a positive and enriching experience for students. While it is important to correct technique at times, I believe the best results come from focusing on a student's strengths rather than weaknesses, and moving forward by building those strengths. My results speak for themselves, as my students regularly grow from being novices to winning competitions and scholarships. So much so that I have become well known in Michigan for producing cellists that impress teachers, conductors, and their fellow musicians.
